The EUROMAT congress was held from 1 - 5 of September in Stockholm, Sweden.  EUROMAT is the premier international congress in the field of materials science and technology in Europe. During the second day of the congress, Dr. Rosalina Pérez (Researcher of CIDETEC Surface Engineering) participated with an oral presentation entitled: “Pre-treatment methodologies for aluminium alloys 7000, 6000 & 2000 series for aeronautic applications”.In this presentation the goal of the ECO-PROTECT project and some relevant results were shown. The ECO-PROTECT project aims to validate and improve REACH compliant alternative coatings (including the pre-treatment, also a crucial step) that can replace the currently Cr(VI) surface treatments for protection of aerospace Al alloys.
